Well, what have I got to say for myself? I was born in England and left home and school to start work at 18 years of age. I started as an Assembler programmer, writing mainframe operating system security modifications for the UK Government and after a few years was coerced into joining a small private company to do the same thing commercially. In 1982 the world suddenly invented microcomputers and so I started writing applications in BASIC, C and later C++. I later helped design and manufacture laptop computers and spent some time in Taiwan for the go-to-market process. Eventually I started my own computer consultancy business and ended up moving to the USA in 1995. For the next eight years I worked as a consultant in the field of Telecoms, including a few years in South America doing Wireless Telecom start-ups. I eventually joined T-Mobile USA and headed up their IT PMO for a while before I took an opportunity to join CIBER's Seattle branch where I was a Director of Delivery and Solutions Architect. In 2006 I left CIBER to become Vice President of Production for a start-up company (EPS Corporation), designing and producing Business Maturity courseware. In October 2007 I rejoined T-Mobile where I am currently working as a process mentor for RUP (the Rational Unified Process). present we live in the Redmond area of Washington, near Seattle. I have been living here in the USA for nearly 13 years and I can't believe how quickly time flies! I definitely call this country my home.
I have 4 children from two previous marriages and also an ex-step-daughter who I treat just like my own. The kids range in age from 9 to 23! From eldest to youngest they are John (23), Becki (22), Grace (17), Teddy (12) and Sophie (9). I look froward to seeing them as often as I get the chance and you will see them all mentioned from time to time in my blog entries.
As you've probably realized I have been very fortunate to have traveled a lot of the world during the course of my work and have lots of stories to tell of far away places and weird food!
Lastly I am also an author in my spare time and have another website pauldorset.com that showcases my books.
